Orcas Swim Team
The Oneonta Family YMCA Orca Swim Team provides children with an opportunity to enjoy their swim team experience. Our focus is to create a positive environment where swimmers will develop mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. We motivate all swimmers to do their best and work hard in all aspects. We reinforce the core values of the YMCA; caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty throughout practices and swim meets. Our goals include:

Beginners 2 Team
This group is for swimmers who have 1-2 years swim team experience and have endurance, but aren’t quite ready to be considered a younger swimmer. Practices will average 45 minutes.

Beginners Team
This swim team is for swimmers 8 and under, who are first time swim team members.
Practice will be available to this group in a 30 minute block Monday-Thursday, ocassionally on Sunday. Practices may be extended to 45 depending on skill of swimmer.
They will swim the width of the pool to build endurance.
